You will not find these cars
in old sales brochures, but they do hold clues
as to what future production cars would look like.
The 1930s were the years of radical styling changes
and, in 2003 and again in 2004, I introduced you
to similar renderings that I had discovered from
an unknown source. Probably all, or most, were
done in the GM styling studios in the mid- to
late-1930s as proposals for late 1930s or early
1940s automobiles. Some are clearly dated with
proposed model years and have the designers name
included. Twice I have contacted GM, with no response
as to their origin. One "Automotive Chronicles"
reader believes that GM gave the originals to
the Ford Museum.
Enjoy these drawings and, if you have any information
about them, I would enjoy hearing from you. Our
thanks to GM for their presumed release.
