If you do not have an original
dealer album to go with your car or with your
collection of literature on a specific make/model
of car your information is not complete. Though
dealer albums are not inexpensive, they are worth
every penny you pay because of the vast amount
of information and number of illustrations that
they contain.
Albums will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
For example, some dealer albums come in two part
sets; some will have transparencies, other will
not; and some will be more deluxe than others.
Let's take a moment to examine everything that
a typical dealer album may contain:

| Paint Chips - Actual
samples of paint colors that were available
are applied to plastic. Small paint chips
will be glued to a heavy sheet of paper and
larger chips will be held together in the
notebook by either a spiral or looseleaf binding. |

| Transparencies - Clear
plastic overlay sheets, with drawings of models
/ body styles which can be laid over paint
chips (in some cases including two-tone combinations)
to show what the car would look like in the
color(s) you choose. |

| Paint Striping
- A clear sheet of plastic will have lines
of paint which can be overlayed on paint chips
to show how striping would look on a car. |

| Fabric Samples - Actual
samples of the cloth, vinyl and leather materials
which were used for seats, dashboard and interior
roof of a car. Small samples will be glued
to a heavy sheet of paper and larger samples
will be bound together in the notebook. Charts
will be included indicating recommended color
combinations. |

| Vinyl Roof, Convertible Top
and Carpet Samples - Actual samples of
the materials which were used for vinyl roof,
convertible top or carpet for a car. Small
samples will be glued to a heavy sheet of
paper. |

| Photographs, Photo Renderings
or Drawings: Exterior - At least one photograph
or photo rendering of each model, with drawings
showing additional body styles in a series. |

or Drawings: Interior - At least one photograph,
photo rendering or drawing of the types of
seats that were available (i.e. bucket, bench,
etc.) are shown in one or more colors in the

or Drawings: Accessories - At least one
photograph, photo rendering or drawing of
options and accessories, with charts listing
which models each was available on. |

We grade dealer albums by the
following criteria:
A = Excellent condition. Shows little or
no use.
B = Item shows normal wear, as used by
a dealership for one year. No damage.
C = Well used, with some damage, but book
is useable as a reference.
Prices range from $100 to $1,755 (1932 Cadillac)
on albums that are in "A" condition.
