Rare Maserati Find
By Robert McLellan

A local retired gentleman recently called saying that he had a few hundred brochures from the 1950s and early 1960s that he had collected in his youth. Would I like to buy them? His wife had a use for the file cabinets and the brochures had to go.

On our arrival I was surprised to discover that about half were foreign and, even better, many were rare makes. Many were acquired while on family vacations abroad. It got even better when I discovered that he had collected them all new, viewed them once, and then stored them for over 40 years - properly stored, too. The condition was immaculate.

A deal was quickly struck and the literature was packed. I had not thoroughly examined every brochure and later discovered how many very desirable items were included. Of all the gems, this Maserati portfolio was the biggest surprise. It is only the second of these that I have seen in my 50+ years of collecting literature. That was back in 1979 and since then only individual plates from the portfolio have surfaced. Now here is the complete set in beautiful condition. Feast your eyes on this.
