Here is "my story".
I am now 53 years old. I have had a love of cars
and all things automotive for all of my life.
I can recall at six years of age my teacher telling
me off for staring out the window watching the
cars drive by!

Originally born in England, we
migrated as a family to Australia in November
1966. The first thing I noticed was that the cars
were a lot different to those in England
bigger, stronger looking and more powerful. As
the sixties drew to a close, 1968 and 1969 cars
became sexier and more aggressive in looks. For
me the late sixties and early seventies were my
years of automotive passion! Being a single young
man I was able to own some very nice high performance
Australian cars a 1972 Monaro GTS coupe
and two Ford Falcon GTs (if only I had known then
what I know now - these cars are now worth a small
fortune!).
I became a qualified Motor Mechanic and served
my apprenticeship at a Volkswagen dealer. I now
work for GM Holden.

I have collected automotive literature
for most of my life with the large amount of my
collection being brochures, and I enjoy a wide
variety of makes and topics. My passion is for
literature from the 1960s and 70s, especially
high performance. I enjoy collecting brochures
from overseas; England, U.S.A., South Africa and
other nations. I love the art work of the early
Volkswagen brochures as well as the awesome art
work of the late 60s and early 70s Pontiac, Chevrolet
and Ford brochures. I have found collecting Automotive
literature to be very addictive and very rewarding.
Also it is a great investment.
Brochures that don't measure up in quality I will
sell to provide the funds to purchase a good quality
item. I have been buying on eBay but have found
that some people's idea of "excellent"
is totally different to mine and have been very
disappointed many times. It is fantastic to have
"found" McLellan's. It's like being
a little boy in a sweet (candy) shop! I spend
hours just looking, taking notes and forever adjusting
my wish list!
Thanks for the oportunity to share with you "my
story".
