It may be a surprise to many that Ford
dominated the collector car hobby in the 1950s and 1960s.
The first issue of "Hemmings Motor News" that
I saw was in the early 1960s and cars, parts and literature
sections were divided into two groups — Ford and
other makes. If you said you were a collector, it was
assumed that you owned a Ford — usually a Model
T. Model As were popular, too, but most other 1930s
Fords were seen at jalopy races or demolition derbys.
The Model T gave way to the Model A and then to the
Thunderbird and, more recently, the Mustang. Now it
appears that Ford pickup trucks are catching collector's
attention. The complete range of Ford trucks has been
overlooked and, with modern transportation switching
from cars to trucks, it was inevitable that interest
in trucks would develop. With the rise in popularity
of trucks, I recommend a review of what is currently
available from McLellan's Automotive History. The following

inventory.
